May 9, 2017 Reflection (Personal Finance)

I know you like to listen to rock  music. Have you heard Cage the Elephant? I recently heard a song called Ain't No Rest for the Wicked, and I really enjoyed it. I actually heard it from a TV show, but I can't remember what it was called. I think you might like it!

You said hello to me in the hallway today, and said it wasn't possible for me to learn something while walking. I disagree - even though multitasking doesn't allow people to fully focus while learning, I think for what I was doing, I was fine. I don't need to learn how to walk - I already know how. I was placing more focus on the video analyzing Reservoir Dogs That's pretty darn interesting. Learning the motivations behind directors and novels is really cool to me, despite being a STEM kid.

May 5, 2017 Reflection (Personal Finance)

We got a new book today! I'm looking forward to reading Behavior Gap. Learning about things that Mr. Hallam might have missed will help me get a better understanding of finance. That goes for most financial planning books, actually. Each one will help me in a way the others haven't. After reading just 19 pages in our 20 minute reading time today, I can tell I will really enjoy it.

One thing I like so far about this book is that Mr. Richards puts me as an investor first. I'm paraphrasing, but a line in the book said to think about my own goals instead of following everyone else. It's easy to get caught up in the bandwagon phenomenon, buying because others are buying, selling because others are selling. This is not a wise investment strategy. I should invest based on what I am attempting to achieve.
